I am a visual learner, thinker and creator. I invite you to a colorful and playful world that explores queerness through a set of 5 cheeky posters. Each poster takes color inspiration from different LGBTQ+ flags. I take significant inspiration from Japanese pop art and commercial consumerism at large which correlates directly to this series. This set of characters are much like the early 2000s brands like Happy Bunny and Bobby Jack and as someone who grew up then, I loved those brands. What I created fills a role within that realm of pop culture that is otherwise lacking and that’s LGBTQ+ representation. I often wondered if I was exposed to LGBTQ+ worlds like this earlier on would I have accepted myself sooner? I believe there is a powerful dynamic in keeping people guessing so with that in mind I let my images speak for me.
