The work that I have spent the better part of my college career making is focused on creating and developing characters that are relatable and appealing to an audience and telling intriguing stories through them. Using digital media with a variety of (typically) bright, highly saturated colors and dynamic lines allows me to breathe life into these two-dimensional figures. One of the most rewarding things for me as a maker is when characters elicit a response from the viewer-- whether it’s good or bad. It’s my responsibility to not only determine the physical attributes of the characters I create, but also to give them personalities, backstories, and relationships. I would love to share these characters with as many people as possible and aid in helping other peoples’ stories along their journey to success, be it as someone who does concept art or as a storyboard artist. Many of the characters featured in the pieces presented are ones that have stuck with me for nearly a decade. They have come an incredibly long way from their early phases, especially as I have begun to really flesh out their designs, their personalities, and the environments or situations that they land themselves in.
