As a sculptor and designer, my hope is to create pieces that not only affect the look of a space, but also affect how people interact within those spaces. In my current works, a strong emphasis is placed on the youthful and carefree feelings that seem to disappear as we grow older. I find that as we age, it becomes less socially acceptable to decorate spaces using bright colors, patterns, and design cues that many would call childish. Although we move away from these design ideas with age, our desire to return to the playful days of our youth never seems to fade. SIT STILL! is a culmination of these ideas, with the overall goal of simply bringing a smile to the face of each user who takes a seat.
