When looking at artwork I feel the most connected to those works that have a character that feels like it would have a personality as if it could step out of the picture. Therefore a major factor is conveying a character’s emotions and using their gesture to highlight their personality are priorities. An interest in history and myths are also influences on the characters and scenes I produce, taking aspects of mythical creatures and bringing them into a modern aesthetic.

The artwork that I create is done digitally because of the clean and precise lines that it allows me to have, combined with the potential for more experimentation with color I can try a new palette easily and without regret.

This series was inspired by my research into East Asian mythology and the creatures and spirits that are associated with them. In this case, taking aspects of them and making designs for skateboards
