Human-Centered Design

This concept explores the emerging technologies and peripheral devices associated with Augmented Reality (AR). AR is being heavily funded by large companies such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Facebook, with many of them introducing new headsets in the coming years. This large investment in AR promises a future with improved functionality, smaller form factor glasses and clearer displays. Eventually, this design concept is meant to use these advances in technology to replace the modern cell phone.

I also believe that current iterations of AR devices are severely lacking the sensation of touch which leaves the experience unsatisfying and hollow for the user. The use of physical tools is second nature to the human psyche when performing tasks, and trying to control interfaces without that is an unnatural feeling. Using a touch-reactive glove can help bridge this gap between digital and physical.
