You Know Her

You Know Her is a body of work representing how common it is for women to be assaulted. Sexual assault survivors typically number one in five but in some multicultural communities, the ratio is higher. My series includes drawings and information graphics that reveal the survivors’ healing process by showcasing a message from them; a poem, a quote, or a phrase. Illustrative drawings with minimized visage protect the privacy of featured individuals. The infographics provide commentary on a specific group of women who are between the ages 18-25. The narrative of my series indicates how survivors have moved forward following the aftermath of violence. The work further aims to empower the vast quantity of women whose stories remain untold–honoring victims progressing onward with their lives.
