Artist Statementarrow_drop_downI’ll never be able to come back to this specific place and time. Marquette will still be here but the memories will fade. Using stop motion animation, I created a documentation to take myself back to this specific place in my life. Through looped rotoscope sequences you follow a trail of Marquette memories, beginning at Rice Paddy with the taste of Aoy’s delicious Thai food. From Rice Paddy the animation transitions to the Third Base Bar, my favorite local hub, for pitchers and pool with friends. The little things are what I’ll remember about Marquette, the tastes, the smells and atmosphere. The process of story boarding, filming, hand drawing and creating these memories in a digital realm is what will keep them alive.
