I am drawn to creating designs that appeal to the human psyche and the process of producing art and design. As a yooper with Finnish descent, based in Marquette Michigan, inspiration from the forests, lakes, and people of the Upper Peninsula motivate my concepts. Memories and life experiences influence the conceptual approaches seen in my work–themes of well-being, travel, and personal connection.

Traditionally, Non-traditional is a collection of wedding invitation suites focusing on celebrating a couple’s “personal style” more so than just their wedding day. There is a direct relationship to traditional wedding invitation designs that I further customized. Sarcastic wording, wanderlust imagery, and other visual themes differentiate this collection from standard wedding invitation templates. The intent with this body of work is to challenge preconceived definitions of art–releasing traditional notions about how art is expressed.
