Academic Programs
Art & Design is one of the top 5 majors at Northern Michigan University. The laptop program provides all art students with a MacBook Pro loaded with the Adobe Creative Suite collection.
The School of Art and Design offers eight degree programs: seven four-year baccalaureate degrees and one two-year associate degree.
Emphases
Students declare an emphasis in media, previously known as an area concentration. An emphasis may focus on a single medium or multiple medias. In studio degree programs, students develop portfolios in their chosen media emphasis and must pass a junior-level art review.
