Overview
The School of Art and Design offers seven degree programs: six four-year baccalaureate degrees and one two-year associate degree. The primary distinction between a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree is a language requirement at the 200 level or above.
Students declare an emphasis in media, previously known as an area concentration. An emphasis may focus on a single medium or multiple medias. In studio degree programs, students develop portfolios in their chosen media emphasis and must pass a junior-level art review.
Four-year degree programs include one or more 400-level capstone courses centered on theory, projects, and/or exhibitions. Art Education, Graphic Design, Digital Cinema, and Social Media Design Management have specific additional requirements.
