This photo series is a collection of fashion photography with an anti-aesthetic twist. This body of work's main idea is to show the different ways in which I express myself through self-portraiture, fashion, makeup, and costume. Typically, when one photographs oneself, they are trying to capture their essence and beauty. Since I am working with anti-aesthetic, the work is more focused on artistic expression and experimenting with the overall function of these images which have less superficial inent. The intent of this work is to show the viewer who I really am through my stylistic choices as well. Throughout art history, many people have used costumes to convey messages to a large audience. Using these as self-expression tools, I invite the viewer to join in on this celebration of identity.

Using post-processing techniques that I have used in previous work, I wanted to unite the anti-aesthetic from my most recent work with my love for self-portraiture from my older work. Having these things in mind, I think these two components of my work make up my identity as an artist.
