Exploring the duality of good and evil is something that has always interested me. I believe that everything has two sides whether we can see them or not. In these two connected castles, I attempt to bridge the gap between both seen and unseen morality. Materials play an important role in conveying these two different emotions: White tends to be a color associated with high morality and tranquility, while dark colors, like black, usually evoke a darker nature. The top castle is a pristine white marble with gold metal trim. The bottom castle is a black marble with red metal trim. The windows have a subtle orange glow as if something sinister is going on behind the castle walls. Both castles are of a classical-gothic build, with minimal decoration. Just like how people change based on their actions, environments and buildings are affected by what kind of people are inhabiting them. Both castles float high in the sky and are constructed of the same materials so that the environment nor materials affect the viewer as much as how things are textured.
