“Introduction to the methods of construction and production of art forms within a societal context.”
Physical Structures is the first studio experience that art and design majors encounter in the School of Art and Design and it is the first course in the cognate sequence. In one sense, the course sets the level of expectations for the entire cognate program and as such, is should not be perceived as a trivial course. The emphasis of the course is on a broad understanding of art and design experiences, the exploration of the creative process, and the experience of the influence of physical forces with a variety of physical processes.
