Andrew Ranville catalogue featured on For Print Only
The fall 2012 exhibition Andrew Ranville: No Island is a Man featured a catalogue and special edition "survival kit" that was sold as fundraiser for local conservation organizations. The catalogue and kit, designed by Edwin Carter, was recently featured on the design blog For Print Only. You can check out the post on the For Print Only website.

Call for entries: North of the 45th exhibition, deadline March 4
The call for entries for the 6th annual North of the 45th Parallel exhibition has been released! This year's exhibition is juried by Wally Mason, a writer from Saint Paul, Minnesota. For the first time entries will only be taken online through Slideroom. Find out more information about how to enter by clicking here.

Call for volunteers!
The Museum has an ongoing need for volunteer docents to help give tours to local school children each fall and spring. There will be an education open house on Saturday, October 6 at 1pm. Click here to learn more about the docent program, or contact Melissa at 227-1481.

Call for Exhibition Proposals: artLAB2
From January 18 - March 24, 2013, the DeVos Art Museum is literally interpreting its mission statement of being a “learning laboratory” for NMU. The back gallery of the museum will be divided into four smaller spaces with each “mini-space” programmed separately. Any NMU School of Art and Design student group can propose an exhibition. The proposal can be course-related work, collaborative pieces, one or more installations, performances, readings, discussions, presentations or any activity suitable for a public space. DeVos Art Museum Featured on National Public Radio
The DeVos Art Museum was recently featured on NPR's Morning Edition for a story on architect John Lautner. Museum Director Melissa Matuscak was interviewed by Edward Lifson about Lautner's connections to growing up in Marquette. You can read or listen to the entire story on NPR's website.

John Lautner Exhibition Receives Award from the Michigan Museums Association
The DeVos Art Museum and Marquette Regional History Center were awarded a 2011 Quest for Excellence Award from the Michigan Museums Association (MMA). The award was presented in Harbor Springs during the MMA Annual Conference. The award was given for the joint exhibitions John Lautner: A Life in Architecture and is "informed and inspired by the MMA Visitor Experience Academy for an exceptionally compelling museum exhibit".
